The main theme of the Severn Project is to use the arts to interpret the river within the communities and landscape it travels through as it makes its way to from the welsh mountains to the sea.
Severn Project reveals the concept of the river as a dynamic, physical, and symbolic link between land, country and people and aims to:
- Demonstrate how the arts can support community cohesion by engaging individuals and communities in an interactive experience.
- Explore where the arts with heritage and landscape interpretation mutually support each other to deliver experiential learning.
- Build a model for large scale cross local authority boundary working, creating an infrastructure for future cultural and tourism projects.
