A local theatre company and Gloucestershire Archives have collaborated to create an imaginative road show that brings the River Severn’s heritage to life with vibrant storytelling for fun and families.

The ‘Fish, Fykes and Ferries’ road show is an engrossing and funny look at the lives of some local characters who have made their living along the banks or afloat the mighty River Severn in bygone days.

NEWS RELEASE: JAZZ LEGEND EDDIE PARKER INSPIRES CHILDREN TO MAKE MUSIC FROM THE RIVER

Schoolchildren across Gloucestershire are being given the opportunity to make music with celebrated jazz musician Eddie Parker.

Eddie, who is regarded as one of the world’s finest jazz flautists and is a renowned composer and bandleader in his own right, is teaching children in primary schools to create and record their own music as part of this summer’s Severn Project arts festival.
